Liza is passionate about teaching students of all levels. She is especially committed to making multiple disciplines of music accessible to students and teachers at institutions throughout the United States. Liza served as visiting Lecturer in Sackbut at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Spring 2015 and 2018. She has given master classes and coachings at Boston University, Northwestern University, Eastman School of Music, Indiana University, University of Central Oklahoma, and other institutions across the U.S. She has taught applied lessons at Tufts University and is an active instructor at workshops. She has taught courses on brass literature, the music of Michael Praetorius, wind music from battlefields to dance halls, and Renaissance polyphony for instrumentalists. She is an active ensemble coach in the Boston area, and has enjoyed instructing the Boston Recorder Society Renaissance Loud Band for the past several years. Liza maintains a small private studio in Boston, where she works with trombone and sackbut students of all age brackets and experience levels.
